DNA and Puerto Rican Genealogy, Part 1

Join us for the first of a two-part series on using DNA evidence in Puerto Rican genealogy research, presented by Cary Bright of the Seattle Genealogical Society DNA Interest Group.

Cary Bright is a prominent genetic genealogist based in the Seattle/Bellevue, Washington area, best known for her expertise in DNA testing analysis. She serves as co-chair and lead organizer of the Seattle Genealogical Society DNA Special Interest Group.

Cary specializes in genetic genealogy, specifically breaking through “brick walls” in family trees by analyzing autosomal DNA (atDNA), X-DNA, and Y-DNA matches. She has been a fixture in the Pacific Northwest genealogical community for over a decade, and is the founder and co-facilitator of the SGS DNA Interest Group. She also frequently facilitates virtual family history research and consultation sessions for the Seattle Genealogical Society. As an active presenter, she teaches both beginners and advanced researchers how to maximize platforms like AncestryDNA, 23andMe, FamilyTreeDNA, and GEDmatch.
